What happens in your house before 8am? And do you think it’s interesting or beautiful?

First in a series of posts about what happens before 8am in people’s homes.

This is my friend Nicole, her husband, Sam, and their three kids–a 7yo and twins who are 4 1/2. Their last name is Hix…they call the twins the “Twix.” This particular morning the twins were getting ready for camp and the 7yo was getting ready for swim team.

Lyle had his hands full on his way to school this morning, so I said I’d bring his birthday cupcakes up later in the morning and drop them off to share with his class during recess.

With cupcake on his face…see that?

Probate court and a Korean spa

I can only assume the cannons are there in case Spa Castle (the other Korean spa) decides to invade.

This month I documented a day in my life that I spent in Dallas for a probate hearing for my dad’s will, followed by some errands related to his stuff (did you know you need a death certificate to cancel cable??), lunch with one of my oldest friends, and ending with a few hours at King Spa, one of my favorite places to relax.

The Friedmans had me over to photograph a typical Sunday morning in their house as they were preparing to put it on the market to sell. Their two oldest kids will be moving out of the house in the next year and they are downsizing.
