A trip to the Anza-Borrego Desert

This week we’ve been doing a lot of fun things with Lyle’s grandma, who is in town for the week. On Wednesday my husband took the day off work (this is SO rare!) and we took a drive into the Anza-Borrego Desert for the day. It’s desert wildflower season, and there were lots of cactuses blooming. It’s also not unbearably hot yet, but it’s still hotter than the beach. (It was nice to return home to our pleasant beach weather that night!)

The view from the gas station as I filled up just to be safe for the drive back through to the other side of the desert…check out those gas prices!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Lyle’s Grandma flew in from Colorado this morning, and she brought a cool coloring book and markers for him. We had brunch at a restaurant at the beach…here’s Lyle (with coloring book) and his dad on Newport Ave. (the main shopping street in our beach neighborhood). And check out his cool new Crocs–he’s gotten so many comments on them and he’s only had them a week!

Hope everyone else had as relaxing a Sunday as we did today. 🙂

Another teaser

A couple “teaser” photos from another shoot I did last weekend. I photographed this adorable little girl and her parents at La Jolla Cove, which is, to put it mildly, busy on a Sunday morning. To B and her parents: Thanks for driving out all the way from East County! I’ll have more for you soon.

The one with the blond curls

Here are a few of my favorites from a session I did this weekend. Saturday was his 20 month birthday, and his mom was considering cutting his hair for the first time ever and wanted to document how it looked first. She told me last night that she chickened out of cutting it, at least for now.

So here is D with all of his beautiful blond curls that he still has.
