Documenting our days | Getting ready

Along with some other photographers, I am doing a monthly challenge to document specific times of day. This month’s theme is “getting ready,” so I present to you here a few of my favorite photos of what getting ready looks like in different households.

Check out Donna’s getting ready photos, and then follow the circle to see all the others, too.

Debbie & Kevin

Last summer I did a Before 8am session with Debbie and her daughter. (You can see that here.) This summer she wanted to do another session focusing on a different time of day, especially so that her husband could be in the photos too.

We did this session on a Sunday evening. Their routine on summer nights is to go to the neighborhood pool for a bit, then come home and make dinner. After dinner they play with Dani and clean up the kitchen, then they do Dani’s bedtime routine.

Interested in having me shoot a part (or all) of your day? Drop me a line at info@karenjacot.com.

Kelley Priddy - I love the story told here! Great photos!August 19, 2015 – 12:51 pm

Robin Reed - Love! Your photos tell such a great story- a bedtime story to share for years to come.August 19, 2015 – 1:00 pm

Scenes from the first week back

I’ve moved! This month I made the move back to my favorite place—Colorado. From now on I will be based out of Boulder. I will still be returning to Houston occasionally and I do plan to continue taking on clients there.

We packed up a 26′ U-Haul and spent two days driving to get here. Here are a few photos from our first week back in the place I love to call home, unpacked boxes and all.

And I’m now taking clients in the Boulder/Denver area, so if you are around here (or know someone who is) and are interested in having me photograph your family, send me an email at info@karenjacot.com.
